Our class was experimenting with different types of hormone growing things (honey, gel and powder). We used the hormone powder. I repotted Blue Lagoon (Thyme). It had a strong smell.
3/8/2010 Today we read about taking cuttings, plant devision, preparation, planting and transplanting. We also learnt that we can use hormone gels to help the roots grow.
30/7/2010 On friday we did more potting and went to the school garden. We potted thyme, wild iris, and poppy for our plant sale later on in the year.
23/7/2010 Today in gardening class we got to put plants in pots and fill them with soil. We split into small groups and helped each other. We learnt about how much soil is needed and how to place the plant in the pot. We then took the plants to the school garden and watered them.
20/7/2010 Today in gardening class we learnt about the types of tools you use when gardening. We also learnt about compost, manures and fertillizers and how they can help the soil and plants. Later on we got to go to our school garden. I checked out the Pineapple Sage I planted last year. We got to pull out things and take home vegetables. I took home a dragon carrot.
